After working for years as a manager and supervisor of Pizza Hut restaurants, Bill and his wife, Renee, decided they wanted their own business. Bill started Big John’s Beef Jerky in January 2001 in York, Pennsylvania and sold his first bag at a music festival in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on the 4th of July. They started with “Big John’s” original recipe and a fiery hot version with different spices. Since then, the Dallas, Texas-native has developed 15 additional flavors.
